As someone who travels frequently and is almost "picky" about accommodation hygiene, I didn't have high expectations for Hope Hotel Shanghai that has been open for many years. It wasn't until the moment I pushed open the door that I realized it had hidden the word "clean" in every easily overlooked detail. Even someone like me who goes out with disposable bedding would simply pack my equipment into my suitcase.
When I checked in, I noticed that the marble floor in the lobby was so bright that it could reflect the shadow of the chandelier, and there was no dust accumulation at the corners. Even in the gaps between the sofas in the lounge area, there were no falling debris. The front desk staff handed over the room card wearing clean disposable gloves, with no stains on their fingertips. They specifically reminded me that all linens in the room are changed on a per guest basis, and the bathroom area has been disinfected three times. The entire 40 minute journey does not require any transfers and does not even touch the cold air in Shanghai; Take Line 2 and transfer to Line 9 from Pudong Airport, and you can arrive in just over an hour. If you want to catch an early flight, you don't have to rush out two hours in advance. You can reach the transfer station of Line 7 within a 5-minute walk. Line 7 is a north-south artery that provides direct access to Jing'an Temple and Lujiazui. The most outstanding thing is its golden circle of walking. I counted the number of hot spots that could be covered in 20 minutes when I lifted my legs from the hotel gate. I walked downstairs for 3 minutes and directly entered the wutong Trail on Hengshan Road. I got up in the morning to take photos of the old western-style houses, and didn't have to punch in half an hour's drive; Walk east for 10 minutes to reach the Shanghai Library, and turn into an alley along the way to get authentic local noodles; Go north for 15 minutes and directly touch the online red card punching point on Wukang Road. Walk slowly along Huaihai Road to Xintiandi. You can also buy the freshly baked butterfly cake on the way. I even got up early one day, walked slowly for 20 minutes and walked directly to Anfu Road. On the road, I took photos of the old buildings hidden in wutong, which was more interesting than taking a taxi.
The surrounding living facilities have exceeded expectations: there is a 24-hour convenience store 200 meters away from the hotel by turning right, so you don't have to run far to stock up on water and snacks at night; There is a large chain supermarket within 500 meters. If you want to buy Shanghai souvenirs such as pear paste candies and fresh meat mooncakes, they are half as cheap as buying them at the entrance of the scenic area; Within 10 minutes' walk around, local dishes, cafes and time-honored Dim sum shops are piled up. You don't have to go all the way to the online stores to clock in. You can go downstairs and turn into an alley to enjoy the authentic flavor of old Shanghai.
Self driving friends don't have to worry about it at all. It's rare to have a private parking lot in wutong District, Xuhui. People who have been here know that they don't have to walk around the old alley for half an hour to find a parking space. After parking, they can go directly to the hospital. They can go to Disney and walk on the viaduct of the Nanpu Bridge, and go to Binjiang, Xuhui and Ruining Road, without going around the traffic jam in the city.
After staying here, I can stroll through Hengshan Road, Wukang Road and Anfu Road in a day. When others are stuck in the road, I have already sat on the observation platform on the top floor and watched the whole wutong roof in Xuhui with the wind. When you come to wutong District, you want to play through it.
